INTRODUCTION ******************************************************************************* This is a guide to finding all collectibles and unlockables in Bayonetta. The information is presented in this guide in multiple ways so that you may reference the material in the manner most convenient to you. The guide begins with the unlockables listed in chronological order in a "walkthrough" format. Following this guide like a walkthrough will result in acquiring all of the unlockables. Section C, which follows the walkthrough, contains a condensed (but complete) list of all collectibles and the Chapter (if any) in which each can be obtained. Section C is useful as a quick reference or a checklist for any items you may be missing. As such, the collectibles listed in Section C are listed in the order they are presented in the game's menus - NOT in chronological order. Neither the walkthrough nor Section C contain any items that are unlocked or purchasable from the start of the game. Thus, you will find no info on Costumes or Techniques, for example, because no special tasks need to be accomplished to acquire them - you simply buy them from the shop once they (automatically) become available. I make no assumptions about whether or not you have played and/or completed the game before consulting this guide. If you have not, it is perfectly acceptable to play through for the first time while following my guide, but I warn you that it may ruin part of the experience. Bayonetta is a truly excellent action game and I recommend playing through it for the first time without the aid of a walkthrough or guide and without worrying about any collectibles you may have missed - you can always use Chapter Select to go back and find everything. Finally, the order I chose for the walkthrough is what I recommend for a good balance of speed and fun. In theory, there are more optimal paths, but these would be less fun. For example, you could complete Easy difficulty first for the Immortal Marionette, then use that accessory for the Normal difficulty playthrough to make the game essentially play itself - but if you do, you will be punished for it on Hard difficulty, because you'll need the practice from playing through Normal on your own to make it through Hard mode. ******************************************************************************* B.) Frequently Asked Questions E.) The End ******************************************************************************* 0.) OVERVIEW ******************************************************************************* This guide covers the following collectible items: * WITCH HEARTS: Witch Hearts increase your maximum vitality. There are 5 Full Witch Hearts and 40 Broken Witch Hearts (which each count for 1/4 of a Full Witch Heart). Full Witch Hearts can be purchased at The Gates of Hell for 30,000 Halos each; Broken Witch Hearts can be found at various places throughout the game. You will know that you have obtained them all when you have two vitality gauges of equal length. * MOON PEARLS: Moon Pearls increase your maximum magic power. There are 8 Full Moon Pearls and 16 Broken Moon Pearls (which each count for 1/2 of a Full Moon Pearl). Full Moon Pearls can be purchased at The Gates of Hell for 30,000 Halos each; Broken Moon Pearls can be found at various places throughout the game. You will know that you have obtained them all when you have three rows of eight in your magic gauge (or two large pearls and one row of eight small ones). * WITCH TOMBS: Witch Tombs (or "Umbra Witches' final resting places", as the game calls them) are simply treasure chests. Some contain Broken Witch Hearts or Broken Moon Pearls, while others contain more mundane items. You will know that you have obtained them all when you receive the "Treasure Fanatic" Bewitchment. * ANTONIO'S NOTES: Antonio's Notes are scraps of paper scattered about the game with the sole purpose of exposing more story to the player (similar to "Intel" or "Reports" from other games). The contents of each note can be read under "Files" in the Select Button menu (this screen is also useful to see which notes you may be missing). You will know that you have obtained them all when you receive the "Truth in its Purest Form" Bewitchment. * ALFHEIMS: Alfheims are similar to Secret Missions from the Devil May Cry series: they are self-contained, bonus combat challenges. The reward for completing an Alfheim is always a Broken Witch Heart or a Broken Moon Pearl. There are 21 Alfheim portals hidden throughout the game. You will know that you have completed them all when you receive the "Angel Slayer" Bewitchment (also, you must complete them all to max out your vitality and magic gauges). * UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD: CROWS: Umbran Tears of Blood play the role of the "bonus collectible" that so many games have nowadays. There are 101 of them total. The first 50 are awarded for completing the 50 Bewitchments (see below); the other 51 are hidden throughout the game in the form of black crows with red auras. Grab the crow before it flies away to obtain the Umbran Tear of Blood (if you don't catch it in time, just backtrack and it will return). You can check which Umbran Tears of Blood you have found and which you haven't under "Files", "Rarities" in the Select Button menu. * UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD: BEWITCHMENTS (TROPHIES/ACHIEVEMENTS): The other 50 Umbran Tears of Blood are awarded by completing the 50 Bewitchments, which are various miscellaneous goals and accomplishments. The Bewitchments list directly corresponds to the Trophy list in the PS3 version and the Achievements list in the XBOX360 version, so if you are going for the Platinum Trophy or 100% completion in those versions, you will get them by completing the Bewitchments list. All three terms are used interchangeably in this guide, but "Bewitchments" is the term used most often throughout. * WEAPONS / LPS: No action game is complete without a veritable smattering of weapons, and Bayonetta delivers. Some weapons you will obtain automatically; others are traded for "LPs" (Long-Playing albums) that must be found within the game, and yet others are awarded for completing certain tasks. The walkthrough that follows this section will cover each weapon as it is obtained; Section C.8 lists all the weapons and briefly describes where and how to obtain them. * ACCESSORIES: Like weapons, accessories are unlocked via a hodgepodge of different methods. Most accessories are available from the start and must be purchased from The Gates of Hell. When an accessory is unlocked, it is added to the list at The Gates of Hell and must still be purchased. The walkthrough that follows this section will cover each accessory as it is obtained; Section C.9 lists all the accessories and briefly describes where and how to obtain them. * PLAYABLE CHARACTERS: Besides Bayonetta herself, there are two playable characters that can be unlocked. To avoid spoilers, I won't mention who they are here, but beware, they *are* mentioned in the walkthrough and in Section C.10. When a new character is unlocked, you must start a New Game to use the character - save your game to a different save slot to retain your completion status with Bayonetta. ******************************************************************************* 1.) FIRST PLAYTHROUGH - NORMAL DIFFICULTY ******************************************************************************* The goal for this playthrough is to obtain all Witch Hearts, Moon Pearls, Witch Tombs, Antonio's Notes, and Alfheims (maybe). We will also be grabbing Umbran Tears of Blood 51 through 68, as well as any scenario-specific Bewitchments. If at any point things start getting difficult (particularly the Alfheims), feel free to skip to Section 2 for the Easy difficulty playthrough, then return here when you are done there. You may also consider returning for the Alfheims after you have otherwise maxed out. Finally, if this isn't your first time through (and I recommend that it isn't), you probably have a bunch of this stuff already (and you definitely have everything marked "Automatic"); but for completeness, everything is listed. Note: To play through a second time, do not start a New Game! Continue from your existing game and use the Chapter Select and Difficulty options in the Chapter Submenu instead. ************************************* 1.P) PROLOGUE: THE VESTIBULE + BEWITCHMENT 21: "I'm A Bit... I Mean Witch" - This Bewitchment is awarded for executing your first torture attack, which will probably happen in this chapter. + BEWITCHMENT 1: "A Primer In The Magical Arts" - (Automatic) Awarded for completing this Chapter. + WEAPON: Scarborough Fair - (Automatic) Awarded for completing this Chapter. ************************************* 1.1) CHAPTER 1: THE ANGEL'S METROPOLIS + BROKEN MOON PEARL 1 - In the first room, go to the second floor railing (jump from the top of the train) and destroy all the benches. The train will depart, revealing the Broken Moon Pearl on the tracks. + WITCH TOMB 1: Large Key - (Automatic) At the bottom of a pit after exiting the train station. You need the key to open the next door. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 1: "A Voyage Towards The Truth" - After opening the door with the Large Key, you'll see it in plain sight in front of the witch and sage statues. + ALFHEIM 1: BROKEN MOON PEARL 2 - After destroying the wall and activating the floating platform, backtrack to the pit where you obtained the Large Key. The Alfheim portal is on the floor at the bottom. + BROKEN WITCH HEART 1 - After riding the floating platform and proceeding down the hall, there will be a cutscene introducing The Gates of Hell. The Broken Witch Heart is on a balcony above the doorway out of here. If you jump up just under the balcony, the Broken Witch Heart will float to you. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 2: "The Crystal Witch & Sage" - In plain sight just outside the room with the portal to The Gates of Hell. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 51 (CROW) - In plain sight directly ahead of Antonio's Notes 2, on the fountain. + WITCH TOMB 2: BROKEN WITCH HEART 2 - In the same area with the fountain; after grabbing Umbran Tears of Blood 51, turn right and check the right side of this area. + LP 1: "Trois Marches Militaires" - (Automatic) Awarded for defeating Beloved in the area with the fountain (Verse 4). + WEAPON: Onyx Roses - Return to The Gates of Hell anytime with LP 1 to receive this weapon. You can backtrack to the portal if you wish, or you can use the portal that's just a couple areas ahead of here. + WEAPON: Onyx Roses Alt. - After receiving the Onyx Roses, this weapon becomes available to purchase for 69,800 Halos. + BROKEN WITCH HEART 3 - In the small storage room after defeating Beloved, jump up to the attic on the left (during Verse 6). + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 52 (CROW) - After exiting the small storage room, the crow is on the railing immediately to the right. You might scare it away quickly - if you do, just proceed down the walkway and come back for this after Verse 7. + BEWITCHMENT 24: "Nice Try" - During Verse 7, your opponent will constantly throw slow flaming boulders at you with regular timing. This is the perfect opportunity to get 10 consecutive Witch Time dodges for this Bewitchment. + BEWITCHMENT 23: "You Want To Touch Me?" - If you got the previous Bewitchment, then you have this one as well. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 3: "A Witch's Brew" - In plain sight by the second portal to The Gates of Hell, just ahead from where you fought Verse 7. ************************************* 1.2) CHAPTER 2: VIGRID, CITY OF DEJA VU + BROKEN WITCH HEART 4 - After completing the first battle, witch-walk up to the top of the wall, and destroy the statue to your left. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 53 (CROW) - After Verse 2, drop down from the wall and open the next door to proceed. The crow is standing in the road amongst the many normal crows immediately after the door. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 8: "An Unknown Metal Wall" - Right after Umbran Tears of Blood 53, in the middle of the road. + WITCH TOMB 3: Arcade Bullet - After using the witch and sage statues and destroying the wall, the Vigrid Streets will open to a courtyard. Check the right side of this area for the Witch Tomb. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 4: "Notes On The Topic of Magic I" - From Witch Tomb 3, rotate your camera until you can see it's purple glow. The note is located next to the building under a roof. + BROKEN WITCH HEART 5 - In the same area as Antonio's Note 5, under the same roof, floating in the air. + BEWITCHMENT 50: "Just In The Nick Of Time" - After the Verse 3 battle, proceed to the next area. After passing under the archway and proceeding down the path, a street car will crash and come careening toward you. Simply double jump over it for the Bewitchment. + ALFHEIM 2: BROKEN MOON PEARL 3 - After dodging the street car and winning the Verse 4 battle, backtrack toward the direction it came from. The gate is now broken, and behind it is the Alfheim portal. + ALFHEIM 3: BROKEN WITCH HEART 6 - From Alfheim 2, proceed further into the Chapter. When you reach the burning wreckage of the street car, turn left and jump onto the archway. The Alfheim portal is up here. + WITCH TOMB 4: Concocting Compounds - Check the left side upon reaching the next open plaza area. + WITCH TOMB 5: Concocting Compounds - After grabbing Witch Tomb 4, turn around and head to the opposite side (the right side) of this area. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 5: "Notes On The Topic of Magic II" - Up the stairs above Witch Tomb 5. + LP 2: "Quasi una Fantasia" - (Automatic) Awarded for winning the Verse 7 battle. + WEAPON: Shuraba - Return to The Gates of Hell anytime with LP 2 to receive this weapon. You'll find the Alfheim portal just outside the witch door. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 9: "About The Umbra Witches I" - Between the witch and sage statues right next to the portal to The Gates of Hell. Can't miss it. + WITCH TOMB 6: BROKEN MOON PEARL 5 - In the area where you fight Verse 9. Can't miss it. + BROKEN WITCH HEART 7 - Just behind Witch Tomb 6, jump up onto the balcony. The Broken Witch Heart is floating over the tree; jump up over the tree and it will float to you. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 54 (CROW) - After destroying the witch wall and creating the bridge, the crow is just outside the church, on a street light. ************************************* 1.3) CHAPTER 3: THE BURNING GROUND + WITCH TOMB 7: Arcade Bullet - After the Verse 1 battle, go up the stairs at the back-right of this area. + ALFHEIM 5: BROKEN MOON PEARL 6 - Verse 1 area, up the stairs at the back left, destroy the trash can. The Alfheim portal will then appear near the previous Witch Tomb. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 55 (CROW) - Verse 1 area, check the left side of this zone, directly opposite the raised area where the previous Witch Tomb was. The crow is on the ground near a couple benches behind a car and small lava pool, up against a wall. + LP 3: "Fantaisie-Impromptu" (Part 1/2) - (Automatic) Awarded for winning the Verse 4 battle (against Fairness) + WITCH TOMB 8: Concocting Compounds - On the right side of the Verse 4 area, under the stairs. + WITCH TOMB 9: Concocting Compounds - After grabbing Witch Tomb 8, turn around and head to the opposite side of the Verse 4 area to see this Witch Tomb. + ALFHEIM 6: BROKEN WITCH HEART 8 - Before using the witch and sage statues to proceed through the small lava geyser, turn back and head down the stairs towards the bridge you created in the previous Chapter. Jump up onto the balcony (where you found a Broken Witch Heart in the previous Chapter) for the Alfheim portal. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 10: "About The Umbra Witches II" - In plain sight after the quicktime event that happens at the end of Verse 6. Can't miss it. + WITCH TOMB 10: BROKEN MOON PEARL 7 - When you drop into the underground (after Verse 7), immediately turn backward. You'll find this Witch Tomb at the end of the path. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 6: "Notes On The Topic of Magic III" - In plain sight on the main path in the catacombs. + LP 3: "Fantaisie-Impromptu" (Part 2/2) - After entering the portal to Paradiso, look to the back-left of the area. The LP piece is floating on an island. Walk on the water out to it. + BEWITCHMENT 39: "Record Collector" - Collecting three LPs scores you this Bewitchment. + WEAPON: Kulshedra - Return to The Gates of Hell anytime with LP 3 to receive this weapon. I suggest getting everything here in this Paradiso section first, before backtracking to The Gates of Hell portal. + BROKEN WITCH HEART 9 - When you get to the switch that lowers the hourglass, turn right. You'll see the Broken Witch Heart floating ahead. + ALFHEIM 7: BROKEN MOON PEARL 8 - After grabbing the Broken Witch Heart, follow the path until you reach a cliff. You'll see an island ahead with the Alfheim portal on it - jump off the cliff and run across the water to it. + ALFHEIM 8: BROKEN WITCH HEART 10 - After using the hourglass to restore the bridge, backtrack to the underground tunnel, and you'll see the Alfheim portal eventually. + WITCH TOMB 11: BROKEN WITCH HEART 11 - After crossing the bridge, jumping off the collapsing section, and crossing the broken rocks with the lava geysers, you'll make it to a cliff with a left path and a right path. Go left for the Witch Tomb, then go right to continue with the Chapter. + WITCH TOMB 12: BROKEN WITCH HEART 12 - After climbing out of the hole using Witch-Walk, stay on the left side of the path and go behind the large rock on the left. The Witch Tomb is behind it. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 11: "The Old Coliseum" - In plain sight as you approach the coliseum at the end of the Chapter. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 56 (CROW) - In plain sight as you approach the coliseum at the end of the Chapter, after Antonio's Note 10, right before the end. There are other crows on this path, so don't freak out when they fly away - you're only worried about the one with the obvious red aura. ************************************* 1.4) CHAPTER 4: THE CARDINAL VIRTUE OF FORTITUDE + BEWITCHMENT 2: "Fortitudo, Bringer Of Flame" - (Automatic) Awarded for completing this Chapter. + BEWITCHMENT 8: "Chapters 1-4 (Normal)" - (Automatic) Awarded for completing Chapters 1 through 4 on Normal difficulty. ************************************* 1.5) CHAPTER 5: THE LOST HOLY GROUNDS + ANTONIO'S NOTES 12: "Crescent and Sunrise Valleys" - On the left side of the very first area, in plain view. + LP 4: "Sonate in DK.448" (Part 1/3) - (Automatic) Awarded for winning the Verse 2 battle (Grace and Glory). + ALFHEIM 9: BROKEN MOON PEARL 9 - After winning the Verse 2 battle, backtrack to the beginning of the Chapter for the Alfheim portal. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 13: "Heavenly Manipulators" - In plain sight, right next to the Heavenly Manipulator (that you must manipulate to advance). + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 57 (CROW) - Directly opposite the Heavenly Manipulator (on the right side of this area). + LP 4: "Sonate in DK.448" (Part 2/3) - (Automatic) Awarded for winning the Verse 5 battle (Grace and Glory again, and some Harmonies). + WITCH TOMB 13: BROKEN WITCH HEART 13 - Verse 5 area, to the right of the stairway. + WITCH TOMB 14: BROKEN MOON PEARL 10 - Near the end of the stairway after Verse 5, right across from the portal to The Gates of Hell, jump off of the stairs to a small area on the left where you'll find this Witch Tomb. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 14: "The Witches' Tears Of Blood" - In the same location as the previous Witch Tomb, in plain sight. + ALFHEIM 10: BROKEN WITCH HEART 14 - During the battle with the Harmonies while Witch-Walking up the tower (Verse 7), backtrack to the bottom of the tower to find the Alfheim portal. Be careful not to proceed too far up the tower, or else you'll be locked up there and will be unable to return to the base of the tower (without replaying the mission). The best way to complete Alfheim 10 is to use Kulshedra to continuously grab enemies and jump off of them. + BEWITCHMENT 35: "Higher And Higher" - You'll probably earn this Bewitchment during Alfheim 10. Use Kulshedra to continuously grab enemies and jump off of them. + ALFHEIM 11: BROKEN WITCH HEART 15 - After you destroy the witch wall and get outside and onto the body of the stone serpent, turn *right* and go *down* the serpent's body to find the Alfheim portal. + BEWITCHMENT 44: "Angel May Cry" - Completing 11 Alfheims scores you this Bewitchment. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 15: "Witch Graves Within The City" - While moving up the stone serpent, you'll see to the left a raised section with a pool of water and a waterfall. Jump into the pool; you'll find this item in plain sight. + WITCH TOMB 15: LP 4: "Sonate in DK.448" (Part 3/3) - This Witch Tomb is behind the waterfall in the same pool as Antonio's Note 14. + WEAPON: Durga - Return to The Gates of Hell anytime with LP 4 to receive this weapon. The next portal is in the next tower, at the top of the stone serpent. + WEAPON: Durga Alt. - After receiving Durga, this weapon becomes available to purchase for 129,800 Halos. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 58 (CROW) - In plain sight on the right on the small bridge after Verse 11. + WITCH TOMB 16: BROKEN WITCH HEART 16 - After Verse 11, while climbing up the inside of the tower, check the wall directly opposite of the exit - the Witch Tomb is on a ledge. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 16: "Rodin & The Gates Of Hell" - Just below Witch Tomb 16 in the tower. + BEWITCHMENT 38: "Commander Of Magic" - After completing this Chapter for the first time is the earliest you can get this Bewitchment, which is awarded for purchasing all Techniques. If you can't afford them all yet, you'll probably be able to soon. + BEWITCHMENT 37: "Seeker Of Magic" - If you got the previous Bewitchment, then you have this one as well. ************************************* 1.6) CHAPTER 6: THE GATES OF PARADISE + WITCH TOMB 17: LP 5: "Les Patineurs Waltz op.183" (Part 1/3) - Right at the start of the Chapter, immediately turn backward for the Witch Tomb. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 59 (CROW) - In plain sight on the left as you proceed forward at the beginning of the Chapter. This one flies away very quickly - you will need to use The Beast Within to catch it. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 17: "Entering Vigrid" - On the right side of the first area, above the gate. + WITCH TOMB 18: BROKEN WITCH HEART 17 - In the Verse 1 area (after breaking the gate open), jump up on the left side for the Witch Tomb. + WITCH TOMB 19: LP 5: "Les Patineurs Waltz op.183" (Part 2/3) - After using The Beast Within to hit the switches and open the large door, you'll enter a wide open area with waterfalls. Jump down and head immediately left. Destroy the rocks here to reveal the Witch Tomb. + ALFHEIM 12: BROKEN MOON PEARL 11 - After completing Verse 3 and disabling the spike traps, do not go through the big door. Instead, start backtracking. The Alfheim portal is beyond the open area with the waterfalls. (Note: You will have to complete this Alfheim again in Hard mode for Umbran Tears of Blood 77. If you want to wait until then to complete it for the first time, feel free, but I still recommend completing it in Normal mode to max out before starting Hard mode.) + ANTONIO'S NOTES 7: "Notes On The Topic of Magic IV" - In plain sight on the main path, after opening the large door at the end of Verse 3. + BEWITCHMENT 48: "A Mother's Love" - Complete Verse 6 (out of body battle) ensuring Cereza takes no damage, and you'll score this Bewitchment. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 18: "The Laguna Faith And Vigrid's Rise" - After Verse 6, in plain sight upon opening the large door to advance. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 19: "Purgatorio, Center Of The Trinity" - In plain sight on the main path, on the way to the portal to Paradiso. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 60 (CROW) - This crow is perched on the ground left of the portal to Paradiso (before entering it). Use The Beast Within to ensure you are fast enough to grab it. + LP 5: "Les Patineurs Waltz op.183" (Part 3/3) - (Automatic) Awarded for completing Verse 9 (after the battle against Joy). + WEAPON: Odette - Return to The Gates of Hell anytime with LP 5 to receive this weapon. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 20: "The Angel's Banquet Hall - Alfheim" - In plain sight on the main path, on the right side of the portal to Vigrid. + WITCH TOMB 20: BROKEN WITCH HEART 18 - Behind the portal to Vigrid - check behind it before entering. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 21: "Prominence Bridge" - On the right side of the large bridge after entering Vigrid. ************************************* 1.7) CHAPTER 7: THE CARDINAL VIRTUE OF TEMPERANCE + BEWITCHMENT 3: "Temperantia, Manipulator Of Wind" - (Automatic) Awarded for completing this Chapter. + BEWITCHMENT 9: "Chapters 5-7 (Normal)" - (Automatic) Awarded for completing Chapters 5 through 7 on Normal difficulty. ************************************* 1.8) CHAPTER 8: ROUTE 666 + BROKEN WITCH HEART 19 - Verse 3. Eventually you will encounter bridges with large stone arches on both sides. When you reach the second such bridge (the one with the large Beloved on it), drive up on the large arch on the right side for the Broken Witch Heart. + BROKEN WITCH HEART 20 - Verse 4. Stay on the right side after exiting the first tunnel. After passing the broken road section, there's an opening on the right side of the road that is blocked off by traffic cones. But through the cones, and the Broken Witch Heart is in the center on this path. ************************************* 1.9) CHAPTER 9: PARADISO - A REMEMBRANCE OF TIME Note: If you don't have "The Crow Within", purchase it before beginning this Chapter. You'll need it to grab one of the items. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 61 (CROW) - From the first area, cross the set of floating platforms and stop on the second-to-last platform before the checkered stone wall. Rotate your camera to the right and you'll see the crow on a hill. Jump *under* the last platform to land on the grass, then run to the crow. + WITCH TOMB 21: BROKEN WITCH HEART 21 - From where you got Umbran Tears of Blood 61, don't jump over the checkered stone wall yet. Instead, stay on the grass and run along the outside of the wall back in the direction you came from. The Witch Tomb is at the end of the path. + ALFHEIM 13: BROKEN MOON PEARL 12 - From the previous Witch Tomb, jump over the checkered wall into the main area, then turn left and go up the stairs toward the stone wall at the end. Destroy the stone wall to reveal the Alfheim portal. + WITCH TOMB 22: LP 6: "Walkurenritt"* (Part 1/3) - From the previous Alfheim, head to the opposite side of this area and destroy the stone wall to reveal this Witch Tomb. * It seems that sometimes LP 6 and LP 7 end up with their names swapped for unknown reasons. If the name of this LP shows as "Messiah, HWV.56" instead of "Walkurenritt", then don't worry, you are still on the right track. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 62 (CROW) - In the Verse 5 area (where Golem is constantly trying to smash you), the crow is on the lower ground to the left of the exit (which is on the raised area with the statue. + WITCH TOMB 23: Large Key Part 1/5 + WITCH TOMB 24: Large Key Part 2/5 + WITCH TOMB 25: Large Key Part 3/5 + WITCH TOMB 26: Large Key Part 4/5 + WITCH TOMB 27: Large Key Part 5/5 - (Automatic) All five Witch Tombs are in the Verse 5 area, and must be opened to advance. + BEWITCHMENT 41: "Treasure Collector" - Discovering 23 Witch Tombs scores you this Bewitchment. + WITCH TOMB 28: BROKEN WITCH HEART 22 - After Verse 5 (after using the Large Key), this Witch Tomb is in plain sight in the next area. + LP 6: "Walkurenritt" (Part 2/3) - (Automatic) Awarded for winning the Verse 6 battle (against two Kinships). + ALFHEIM 14: BROKEN WITCH HEART 23 - After defeating the two Kinships, jump up onto the ships. Beyond them in the distance is a floating platform. Use The Crow Within to fly to this platform, where you'll find the Alfheim portal. + WITCH TOMB 29: BROKEN MOON PEARL 13 - After advancing from the Verse 6 area, check the left side before using Witch Walk to run up and jump off the platform ahead. + BEWITCHMENT 47: "Naughty Tentacles" - Destroy all tentacles on the way down for this Bewitchment. The easiest way to do this is to equip the Onyx Roses shotgun for your upper weapon and repeatedly fire on the way down. This will slow your descent and will automatically aim at the tentacle bulbs when you get close enough. If you fail to destroy one of them in time with the Onyx Roses, try to fall directly into its bulb to destroy it. If you miss one, you can intentionally miss the platform at the bottom in order to respawn at the top, giving you another chance at this Bewitchment. + WITCH TOMB 30: LP 6: "Walkurenritt" (Part 3/3) - When you reach the portal to The Gates of Hell, instead of advancing across the celestial pathway, use The Beast Within or The Crow Within to go *under* it and advance to the cliff ahead. Follow the path up the hill and destroy the stone wall at the end to reveal this Witch Tomb. + WEAPON: Lt. Col. Kilgore - Return to The Gates of Hell anytime with LP 6 to receive this weapon. + WEAPON: Lt. Col. Kilgore Alt. - After receiving Lt. Col. Kilgore, this weapon becomes available to purchase for 99,800 Halos. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 63 (CROW) - After defeating Golem, head up the stairs on the left side for the crow. + WITCH TOMB 31: BROKEN WITCH HEART 24 - In the same location as Umbran Tears of Blood 63 - can't miss it. + ALFHEIM 15: BROKEN WITCH HEART 25 - After defeating Golem, backtrack to the platform you landed on after the tentacle sequence. The Alfheim portal is here. ************************************* 1.10) CHAPTER 10: PARADISO - A SEA OF STARS + WITCH TOMB 32: Red Hot Shot - After destroying the witch walls to activate the rotation device (Verse 2), jump onto the archway that's above one of the paths outward. + WITCH TOMB 33: BROKEN MOON PEARL 14 - Rotate the city to the right (clockwise) instead of the left to access a small floating platform with the Witch Tomb on it. + ALFHEIM 16: BROKEN WITCH HEART 26 - The Alfheim portal is on the same platform as the previous Witch Tomb. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 64 (CROW) - After rotating the city to the left, you'll see the crow on the left rail while descending the stairs. + WITCH TOMB 34: BROKEN MOON PEARL 15 - After defeating the three Kinships (Verse 7), jump up onto the ships. Beyond them is a floating platform. Jump onto it for the Witch Tomb. + WITCH TOMB 35: BROKEN WITCH HEART 27 - From the previous Witch Tomb, look to the right to see another floating platform in the distance. Use The Crow Within to fly to this platform, where you'll find this Witch Tomb. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 65 (CROW) - When you reach the bridge with the tentacles on either side, look for the crow on the right railing. + ALFHEIM 17: BROKEN WITCH HEART 28 - When you reach the portal to The Gates of Hell (after the spike traps after Verse 8), backtrack over the bridge with the tentacles to discover the Alfheim portal. + WITCH TOMB 36: BROKEN WITCH HEART 29 - From the portal to The Gates of Hell, destroy the wall just beyond it to reveal a floating platform with this Witch Tomb on it in the distance. Use The Beast Within to leap onto it (be careful, you have only one chance to make this jump, otherwise you will have to die in the next Verse and Continue to attempt it again). ************************************* 1.11) CHAPTER 11: THE CARDINAL VIRTUE OF JUSTICE + BEWITCHMENT 4: "Iustitia, Giver Of Life" - (Automatic) Awarded for completing this Chapter. + BEWITCHMENT 10: "Chapters 8-11 (Normal)" - (Automatic) Awarded for completing Chapters 8 through 11 on Normal difficulty. ************************************* 1.12) CHAPTER 12: THE BROKEN SKY + WITCH TOMB 37: BROKEN WITCH HEART 30 - From the beginning, this Witch Tomb is behind a fence immediately to your right. Go forward and around the fence to get to it. + WITCH TOMB 38: Magic Flute - Just ahead a little bit from the start of the level, destroy a wall on the left side to reveal this Witch Tomb. + WITCH TOMB 39: Red Hot Shot - Slightly ahead on the right side of the area, where combat first breaks out. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 66 (CROW) - In a cage next to the stairs that lead out of the Verse 1 area. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 22: "The Valkyrie Military Transport" - On the same platform as the door that leads out of the Verse 1 area (before entering the door). + ANTONIO'S NOTES 23: "Gjallarhorn Defense Initiative" - In plain sight on the other side of the gold barrier at the end of Verse 2, next to the portal to The Gates of Hell. + WITCH TOMB 40: BROKEN WITCH HEART 31 - From the portal to The Gates of Hell, turn around backward to face the outside. Jump up onto a raised area on the right side, and follow the platforms along the right side until you reach the Witch Tomb. + ALFHEIM 18: BROKEN WITCH HEART 32 - After reaching the portal to The Gates of Hell, backtrack to the beginning of the Chapter. Win some battles here (Verse 3), and the Alfheim portal will appear. + ALFHEIM 19: BROKEN WITCH HEART 33 - From the portal to The Gates of Hell, proceed forward with the Chapter. Head outside of the plane and travel about halfway along the path, then turn around and jump into the engine. Head all the way to the back (use Witch Time or Pulley's Butterfly to get past the propellers) and you'll see the Alfheim portal. By the way, on the way out, you'll be able to destroy those propellers with weapon attacks. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 24: "Treasure of the Clans - The Eyes of the World" - After Verse 8 (Jeanne battle), on the left side of the room after the portal to The Gates of Hell. ************************************* 1.13) CHAPTER 13: THE CARDINAL VIRTUE OF PRUDENCE + BEWITCHMENT 5: "Sapientia, Controller Of The Seas" - (Automatic) Awarded for completing this Chapter. + BEWITCHMENT 11: "Chapters 12-13 (Normal)" - (Automatic) Awarded for completing Chapters 12 and 13 on Normal difficulty. ************************************* 1.14) CHAPTER 14: ISLA DEL SOL + BEWITCHMENT 49: "Fire The Afterburners" - If you can score Platinum Medals on both Verse 1 and Verse 2, you will receive this Bewitchment. This is actually quite difficult to do on Normal mode - I recommend doing this on Easy mode instead (Section 2). + BROKEN WITCH HEART 34 - Verse 1, when you are attacked by three angels on the missile, finish the large one off with a torture attack. The Broken Witch Heart will then appear. + BROKEN WITCH HEART 34 - Verse 2, exact same situation - torture attack the large angel and the Broken Witch Heart is yours. ************************************* 1.15) CHAPTER 15: A TOWER TO TRUTH + WITCH TOMB 41: BROKEN WITCH HEART 36 - At the beginning of the Chapter, turn to the right, use The Beast Within, and leap over the rails and over the gap to a hidden section where you'll find this Witch Tomb. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 67 (CROW) - In the same section as the previous Witch Tomb, the crow is high up in the back-left corner. You'll have to triple jump for it (jump, wall-jump, air-jump). + ALFHEIM 20: BROKEN WITCH HEART 37 - After using the turret to defeat Temperantia (Verse 8), backtrack all the way to the beginning of the level. Use The Beast Within to leap the gap again, and you'll find the Alfheim portal near Witch Tomb 41. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 25: "Island In The Sun - Isla Del Sol" - In plain sight just down the hall after defeating Temperantia with the turrets (Verse 8). + WITCH TOMB 42: BROKEN WITCH HEART 38 - After you reach a portal to The Gates of Hell, head to the right, ignore the floating platforms, and turn right to reveal the Witch Tomb. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 68 (CROW) - After grabbing Witch Tomb 42, head to the top of the tower and move along the top in a counter-clockwise direction. Drop down in the next section and you'll see the crow in a cage. + WITCH TOMB 43: Red Hot Shot - From where you got Umbran Tears of Blood 68, head in the opposite direction for this Witch Tomb. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 26: "Ithavoll CEO I" - After grabbing Witch Tomb 43, head back to the top of the tower. Continue counter-clockwise along the top to immediately find this Note. + WITCH TOMB 44: BROKEN MOON PEARL 16 - After activating the device that creates a ton of floating platforms that go up the sides Of the tower, cross these platforms until you reach solid ground again (the large circular section that floats above). Rotate your camera to get a good view of this entire area. You'll see two platforms along the wall; one of them has two doors on it (don't go there yet; that's where you advance), the next one counter-clockwise from there has Witch Tomb 44 on it. Go there and grab it. + WITCH TOMB 45: BROKEN WITCH HEART 39 - From that previous Witch Tomb, look out toward the opposite side wall of this area and you'll see a floating platform this Witch Tomb on it. You can make it via well-timed jumps and The Crow Within. + BEWITCHMENT 42: "Treasure Fanatic" - Discovering all 45 Witch Tombs scores you this Bewitchment. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 27: "Ithavoll CEO II" - On the same platform as the previous Witch Tomb. + ANTONIO'S NOTES 28: "To My Beloved Son" - This one automatically unlocks after obtaining all others. + BEWITCHMENT 46: "Truth In Its Purest Form" - Collecting all 28 of Antonio's Notes scores you this Bewitchment. ************************************* 1.16) CHAPTER 16: THE LUMEN SAGE + BEWITCHMENT 6: "Master Of The Heavens" - (Automatic) Awarded for completing this Chapter. ************************************* 1.E) EPILOGUE: REQUIEM + ALFHEIM 21: BROKEN WITCH HEART 40 - When you reach the large statue in space (after the motorcycle section), run toward the top, but turn back as soon as you get just passed her shoulders (you should see the camera shift when you reach this spot). Backtrack to the bottom of the statue for the Alfheim portal. + BEWITCHMENT 43: "The Path To The Heavens" - Discovering all 21 Alfheims scores you this Bewitchment. + BEWITCHMENT 45: "Angel Slayer" - Completing all 21 Alfheims scores you this Bewitchment. + BEWITCHMENT 7: "Taste Of The Witching Hour" - (Automatic) Awarded for completing all Chapters. + BEWITCHMENT 12: "Chapters 14-Epilogue (Normal)" - (Automatic) Awarded for completing Chapters 14 through the Epilogue on Normal difficulty. + BEWITCHMENT 13: "Umbra Witch" + WEAPON: Handguns - (Automatic) Awarded for completing all Chapters on Normal difficulty. ******************************************************************************* 2.) SECOND PLAYTHROUGH - EASY DIFFICULTY (BEWITCHMENT RUN) ******************************************************************************* The goal for the second playthrough is to simply complete the game for the Immortal Marionette accessory and pick up any Bewitchments we missed on the first playthrough, as well as several others. Finally, we are familiarizing ourselves with all the Chapters again in order to prepare for the speed run (next playthrough). Note: To play through again, do not start a New Game! Continue from your existing game and use the Chapter Select and Difficulty options in the Chapter Submenu instead. ************************************* 2.1) COMPLETING BEWITCHMENTS Consider this section complete once you have gained all the Bewitchments listed below, as well as all of them mentioned in Section 1 - use the Find/Search feature of your browser (usually control+f) to find the Bewitchments you are missing, or consult Section C for the complete list. Almost all of these can be obtained in the Prologue. By the time you complete Easy mode, you should have every Bewitchment that doesn't require you to be on Hard mode or above (and isn't Automatic). + BEWITCHMENT 22: "Feels Good, Doesn't It?" - Awarded for completing 50 torture attacks. If you don't have this one yet, you'll probably get it soon. Just keep doing torture attacks. + BEWITCHMENT 25: "PLATINUM!" - Awarded for earning 10 Platinum Medals in 10 different battles. You should be getting a lot of Platinum Medals in Easy mode (unequip the Immortal Marionette to improve your combo scores). + BEWITCHMENT 26: "Double, Double, Toil And Trouble" - Awarded for creating 20 Concoctions. Can't get much simpler. + BEWITCHMENT 27: "Tread Not So Softly" - Awarded for defeating an enemy by jumping on top of them. Just keep trying at this one and you'll get it quickly. + BEWITCHMENT 28: "Nice And Relaxed" - Awarded for parrying 10 enemy attacks with the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa* accessory equipped. It's easiest to do this in the Prologue, where the enemies are weak. To parry, press the left control stick toward the enemy as their attack is about to land. * In the WiiU version, you don't need the Moon of Malaa-Kalaa accessory. Equip the Hero of Hyrule costume and you'll gain the same parry ability needed for this Bewitchment. + BEWITCHMENT 29: "Touch And It Will Hurt" - Awarded for countering 10 enemy attacks with the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa* accessory equipped. A counter is performed the same way as a parry, except the timing is more strict - you must parry at the last possible moment. * In the WiiU version, you don't need the Moon of Malaa-Kalaa accessory. Equip the Hero of Hyrule costume and you'll gain the same parry ability needed for this Bewitchment. + BEWITCHMENT 30: "Touch And It Will REALLY Hurt" - Awarded for countering three enemy attacks consecutively with the Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa* accessory equipped. One of the harder Bewitchments to obtain, this is best completed by defeating all enemies except one in an area and then standing still, attempting to counter all of its attacks without distractions from other enemies. * In the WiiU version, you don't need the Moon of Malaa-Kalaa accessory. Equip the Hero of Hyrule costume and you'll gain the same parry ability needed for this Bewitchment. + BEWITCHMENT 31: "Come Here, Little Boy" - Awarded for taunting and defeating five angered enemies while taking no damage. It's easier than it sounds - do it in the Prologue. You can equip the Gaze of Despair Accessory to cause the enemies to be pre-taunted. + BEWITCHMENT 32: "Wicked Weaver" - Awarded for executing a Wicked Weave attack while using Dodge Offset. You probably already have this one. If not, simply use Punch, Kick, Dodge (while holding Kick), Punch. + BEWITCHMENT 33: "Wicked Weave Master" - Awarded for executing 20 Wicked Weave attacks while using Dodge Offset. Same as the previous Bewitchment; do it 20 times. + BEWITCHMENT 34: "The Deepest Cut" - Awarded for defeating 20 enemies using only Iai-Jutsu with Shuraba. Hold the Punch button to charge, then release to perform Iai-Jutsu. Do this to defeat 20 enemies; simple in Easy mode. + BEWITCHMENT 36: "The Ice Witch" - Awarded for freezing 20 enemies while wearing Odette. Simply equip Odette and use nothing but Kick attacks throughout your Easy playthrough until this Bewitchment is eventually unlocked. + ACCESSORY: Eternal Testimony - Awarded for obtaining 50 Umbran Tears of Blood. You should have this by the time you finish your Bewitchment hunting step. + ACCESSORY: Immortal Marionette - Awarded for completing all Chapters on Easy difficulty. ******************************************************************************* 3.) THIRD PLAYTHROUGH - NORMAL DIFFICULTY (SPEED RUN) ******************************************************************************* The reason we are doing a speed run playthrough is to unlock a single accessory - the Bracelet of Time. Note that this accessory can also be purchased for 3,000,000 Halos using the alternate unlock method described in Section 6.1, so if you would rather grind for it, take a look at that section. Otherwise, read on! By now you should be maxed out as much as possible at this point - two full vitality bars, three rows of eight magic pearls, and all techniques. If you aren't, go back and collect whatever you are missing before starting the speed run playthrough (now that you have the Immortal Marionette accessory, many of those Alfheims have suddenly become much easier). The goal for the third playthrough is to get our Normal completion time below three hours. Completion time for the game is the sum of your completion times per Chapter; Completion time per Chapter is calculated from the sum of the time spent in Verses. This means you can simply replay Chapters and update your time at the end to improve your overall score - there's no need to replay through the entire game. It also means that time spent in non-combat areas does not count against you. You can view your completion time in the Play History. Note that in order to update your Chapter time, you must also update your combo score, even if it's worse (you will be prompted to update at the end of each Chapter). ************************************* 3.1) SPEED RUN TIPS * Equip the Immortal Marionette accessory to speed up combat and minimize mistakes that can slow you down. Your combo score will suck, but you don't care about that right now. * Skip the boss Chapters and Chapters you don't like as you speed run through. If your time is not under three hours after that, go back and improve your times on the Chapters you skipped. * Use The Beast Within all the time to move faster. * Skip all unnecessary Verses. Don't defeat any enemies that are not required to advance. In general, if there isn't a force field or door stopping you from advancing, you can probably ignore the enemies and just run for it. * You can also use The Beast Within and The Crow Within to skip whole parts of certain Chapters. For example, you can skip the entire Paradiso section of Chapter 3 by leaping across the broken bridge with The Beast Within and The Crow Within. Often you can also ignore witch and sage statues and simply leap past them. * Once you've got your time below 3:00:00, visit The Gates of Hell for the following: + ACCESSORY: Bracelet of Time - Awarded for completing all Chapters on Normal difficulty with a total game time of less than 3 hours. ******************************************************************************* 4.) FOURTH PLAYTHROUGH - HARD DIFFICULTY ******************************************************************************* The goal for this playthrough is to continue our quest to collect everything in the game. The only collectibles left that you have to worry about are Umbran Tears of Blood. You don't have all the Bewitchments yet, but you will gain the rest of them automatically as you progress, so you need not worry about them. If at any point things start getting too difficult, you can unlock weapons and accessories that you would normally get much later in the game via the alternate unlock method described in Section 6.1. This method requires millions of Halos to utilize, but it allows you to grind for earlier access to powerful weapons and accessories. Chapters with nothing in them are still listed for the purpose of control+f searches. ************************************* 4.P) PROLOGUE: THE VESTIBULE Nothing! ************************************* 4.1) CHAPTER 1: THE ANGEL'S METROPOLIS + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 69 (CROW) - After riding the floating platform up to the next area (after Verse 2), check the grass behind the railing on the raised area immediately to the left. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 70 (CROW) - After defeating Beloved (Verse 4), proceed toward the small storage area, but don't enter it yet. Look up and to the left, and you'll see the crow perched up on a railing. Double jump up there to grab it. ************************************* 4.2) CHAPTER 2: VIGRID, CITY OF DEJA VU + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 71 (CROW) - When you reach the witch and sage statues after Verse 2, double jump up to the windows of the buildings on the left side of this area. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 72 (CROW) - After destroying the witch wall and crossing the bridge (end of the Chapter, before the church), the crow is next to a tree on the right. ************************************* 4.3) CHAPTER 3: THE BURNING GROUND + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 73 (CROW) - Before using the witch and sage statues to proceed through the small lava geyser, turn back and head down the stairs towards the bridge you created in the previous Chapter. You can't miss it. ************************************* 4.4) CHAPTER 4: THE CARDINAL VIRTUE OF FORTITUDE + BEWITCHMENT 14: "New Testament: Ch. 1-4 (Hard)" - (Automatic) Awarded for completing Chapters 1 through 4 on Hard difficulty. ************************************* 4.5) CHAPTER 5: THE LOST HOLY GROUNDS + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 75 (CROW) - Right at the start of the Chapter, immediately turn backward for the crow. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 76 (CROW) - While moving up the stone serpent, you'll see to the left a raised section with a pool of water and a waterfall. Jump into the pool; you'll find the crow in here at the back edge of the pool. ************************************* 4.6) CHAPTER 6: THE GATES OF PARADISE + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 77 (CROW) - After defeating the angels in the room with the spike traps (Verse 3), start backtracking. Enter the Alfheim portal that is beyond the open area with the waterfalls. You will have to complete the Alfheim before you can grab the crow. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 78 (CROW) - After defeating Joy (Verse 9), look for the crow to the left and slightly behind the portal before entering it. ************************************* 4.7) CHAPTER 7: THE CARDINAL VIRTUE OF TEMPERANCE + BEWITCHMENT 15: "New Testament: Ch. 5-7 (Hard)" - (Automatic) Awarded for completing Chapters 5 through 7 on Hard difficulty. ************************************* 4.8) CHAPTER 8: ROUTE 666 Nothing! ************************************* 4.9) CHAPTER 9: PARADISO - A REMEMBRANCE OF TIME + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 79 (CROW) - After Verse 3, take the celestial path to solid ground; the crow is on a fence on the left side. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 80 (CROW) - When you reach the portal to The Gates of Hell, instead of advancing across the celestial pathway, use The Beast Within or The Crow Within to go *under* it and advance to the cliff ahead. Follow the path and you'll see the crow on the left side rail. ************************************* 4.10) CHAPTER 10: PARADISO - A SEA OF STARS + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 81 (CROW) - After Verse 4 (Harmonies battle), proceed down the stairs. Immediately turn left and you'll see the crow. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 82 (CROW) - When you reach the portal to The Gates of Hell (after the spike traps after Verse 8), destroy the wall just beyond it to reveal a floating platform in the distance. Don't jump onto the platform, rather, look down and to the left. You'll see the Verse 11 area, and the crow on a raised piece of land. Jump down from here and grab that crow. - Alternatively, after winning Verse 11, use The Beast Within and/or The Crow Within to fly to the small cliff on the right side of this area. ************************************* 4.11) CHAPTER 11: THE CARDINAL VIRTUE OF JUSTICE + BEWITCHMENT 16: "New Testament: Ch. 8-11 (Hard)" - (Automatic) Awarded for completing Chapters 8 through 11 on Hard difficulty. ************************************* 4.12) CHAPTER 12: THE BROKEN SKY + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 83 (CROW) - From the portal to The Gates of Hell, turn around backward to face the outside. You should see the crow in the far upper left. Jump up onto a raised area on the right side, and follow the platforms along the right side until you reach the Witch Tomb. From there, use The Crow Within to fly across to the platform with the crow on it. + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 84 (CROW) - From the portal to The Gates of Hell, proceed forward with the Chapter. Head outside of the plane and travel about halfway along the path, then turn around and jump into the engine. Head all the way to the back (use Witch Time or Pulley's Butterfly to get past the propellers) and you'll see an Alfheim portal. Enter the Alfheim portal. The crow is inside (you will not have to complete the Alfheim, just grab it and go). ************************************* 4.13) CHAPTER 13: THE CARDINAL VIRTUE OF PRUDENCE + BEWITCHMENT 17: "New Testament: Ch. 12-13 (Hard)" - (Automatic) Awarded for completing Chapters 12 and 13 on Hard difficulty. ************************************* 4.14) CHAPTER 14: ISLA DEL SOL Nothing! ************************************* 4.15) CHAPTER 15: A TOWER TO TRUTH + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 85 (CROW) - After defeating Temperantia with the turrets (Verse 8), proceed to the next room. Before destroying the door to proceed outside, check the right corner of this room for the crow (in a cage). + UMBRAN TEARS OF BLOOD 86 (CROW) - After activating the device that creates a ton of floating platforms that go up the sides Of the tower, cross these platforms until you reach solid ground again (the large circular section that floats above). Rotate your camera to get a good view of this entire area. You'll see two platforms along the wall; one of them has two doors on it (don't go there yet; that's where you advance), the next one clockwise from there has the crow on it. Go there and grab it. ************************************* 4.16) CHAPTER 16: THE LUMEN SAGE Nothing! ************************************* 4.E) EPILOGUE: REQUIEM + BEWITCHMENT 18: "New Testament: Close The Book" - (Automatic) Awarded for completing Chapters 14 through the Epilogue on Hard difficulty. + BEWITCHMENT 19: "Umbra Elder" + LP 9: "Mars, the Bringer of War" - (Automatic) Awarded for completing all Chapters on Hard difficulty. + BEWITCHMENT 40: "Record Fanatic" - Collecting seven LPs scores you this Bewitchment. + WEAPON: Bazillions - Return to The Gates of Hell anytime with LP 9 to receive this weapon. ******************************************************************************* 5.) You will need to have millions of Halos to spend. In Chapter 2: Vigrid, City of Deja Vu, after Verse 2, you'll reach the Vigrid Streets area, which is an open courtyard. There are three telephones in this area - standing in front of one of these telephones and inputting a button code results in unlocking an item and deducting its Halo price from your total. You will hear a chime if the button code was input successfully. Each telephone unlocks a different type of item: * Weapons Telephone = The left-side telephone that's inset in the stairway near the entrance to this area. * Accessories Telephone = The telephone to the right of the Weapons Telephone. * Characters Telephone = The telephone directly across the courtyard from the other two, behind one of the pillars on the left side. What follows is the list of unlocks that can be obtained by this method, their prices, the telephone you must stand in front of, and the button code used to unlock the item. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ******************************************************************************* * Q: Does this game support "New Game+"? How do I continue my progress through the higher difficulties? A: To play through again while keeping all of your progress (essentially New Game+) DO NOT start a New Game - simply continue from your existing game and use the Chapter Select and Difficulty options in the Chapter Submenu. * Q: Can I obtain Bewitchments on any difficulty? A: Unless otherwise noted in the Bewitchment's description, you can. For this reason, I recommend scoring certain Bewitchments in Easy or Very Easy mode. * Q: What's a "triple jump"? A: A triple jump is any combination of jump + double-jump + wall-jump. * Q: What is the "Vigrid Telephone Unlocking Method"? A: It's an alternate method for unlocking weapons and accessories that allows you to grind Halos for them rather than unlocking them via their normal challenging methods. See Section 6.1 for details. * Q: What's with your Antonio's Notebook / LP numbering? A: The numbers I've used are based on the order they are listed in the game. Yes, the game does award you these items out of order (for example, you get LP 9 for beating Hard difficulty, and LP 8 for beating Nonstop Infinite Climax difficulty). * Q: I'm missing one Broken Witch Heart and I can't find it anywhere! A: Well, that isn't a question, but I'll help you anyway. It's very possible that the last piece is actually one that you've obtained before, but then died after grabbing it. This happened to me - I had obtained all of them, but I was still missing one. To make matters worse, the last one was inside a Witch Tomb, but I wasn't inclined to look there because I had the "Treasure Fanatic" Bewitchment, so I figured I was covered. Bottom Line: It could be anywhere! Sorry! * Q: I just unlocked a new character... How do I use her? * A: When a new character is unlocked, you must start a New Game to use the character. After selecting New Game, the game will ask you which character you want to play. Make sure save your game to a different save slot to retain your completion status with Bayonetta. ******************************************************************************* E.)
